Second Stage for Casts in Lead Crystal Glass

Once the precious plaster casts have been tidied up a silicone mould is created followed by a wax.
 
The final stage for the 3d casts in crystal glass involves several stages:-
 
  • the treatment of the glass with lead oxide.
  • the glass is then handcut to make facets.
  • this gives the glass a higher index of refraction and creates a weighty keepsake.

Do I have to come to the studio to have Casts in Lead Crystal Glass created?

If you can visit the studio in Poole then please book an appointment. This is not always possible.  If this is the case the you have the option to send your plaster cast to Glenda.

To achieve a good quality cast we are have strict guidelines.

You can opt to showcase your 3D Casts in Crystal Glass with a bespoke slate mount.  The image below was created with the name and age of the child.

Block Casting

For the ultimate in luxury – you could go for the block style lead crystal glass casting.  This works best for a baby up to the age of six months.
