Today, I want to share the story of Ping, a mum from Norway who chose to learn this art with me — and how she’s since built a thriving business in a country where 3D casting was virtually unknown.
3D Casting Training for International Students
Ping’s story: From airline career to creative entrepreneur
In June 2019, Ping travelled from Norway to train with me at Precious Memories. She’d previously worked in the airline industry — confident with people and calm under pressure — but gave up that role after becoming a mum of two. Like many women, she wanted to use her brain again, earn an income, and do something meaningful and creative that worked around family life.
In Norway, most women are expected to return to work, but options like 3D casting weren’t well known. When Ping began researching training, she told me she’d spoken to another UK company but didn’t feel confident in their approach. She wanted someone who not only had years of experience, but who would really support her and build her confidence.
Over two intensive days, I guided her through the full 3D casting process — using real baby models to practise with. We worked with lovely families and different age ranges, from a tiny 7.5-week-old baby to a bubbly one-year-old, teaching Ping how to adjust her technique for each. We also focused on tricky hand positions, especially baby fingers and thumbs — and even worked on a handclasp to finish the course.
What stood out was Ping’s determination to get everything right. She took notes, asked thoughtful questions, and embraced every challenge. Now, her business Minnestudio is thriving, with a professional website, a growing reputation and beautifully framed castings. She’s proof that this training can spark something life-changing.
