Jennifer didn’t just happen to be in the UK; she deliberately chose to travel from Germany to attend my keepsake training workshops at Precious Memories. Out of many options across Europe, she selected my courses. Why?

ennifer began her journey by learning to create bespoke silver fingerprint jewellery—a timeless keepsake that preserves a loved one’s unique prints in high-quality silver pieces.

Throughout her training, Jennifer focused on mastering various techniques to make a range of keepsakes. These included fingerprint pendants, charm bracelets, keyrings, and silver dog tags. She also learned how to create baby handprint and footprint jewellery, along with pet print jewellery. Both are incredibly popular with parents and pet owners who want to preserve a special moment forever.

Each piece is handcrafted using precious metal clay, then professionally finished and polished to a high standard. This ensures that every keepsake is not only beautiful but meaningful—a true heirloom in the making.

3D LifeCasting Training

The next part of Jennifer’s training focused on 3D baby casting, one of the most sought-after workshops at Precious Memories. This training is in high demand worldwide, with students travelling from all corners of the globe. They can choose from flexible options—whether it’s a 1-day, 2-day, or 3-day workshop—tailored to suit their individual needs.

With over 20 years of experience creating 3D castings, I bring expert knowledge to every workshop. A key part of the training is teaching students how to avoid common mistakes and resolve issues as they arise. Since Jennifer had travelled all the way from Germany, I made it a priority to ensure she left the workshop fully prepared to handle any challenges she might face when returning home.

Jennifer shared, “The 3D casting workshop exceeded my expectations. I not only gained technical skills, but also the confidence to tackle any challenges when working with clients. Practicing on real babies was invaluable—it gave me the hands-on experience I needed to feel fully ready to start my own business back in Germany.”

2D IMPRESSION TRAINING

The next part of Jennifer’s training focused on 2D baby, child, and pet impression training—an ideal complement to 3D casting. While 3D casting often gets more attention, 2D impressions are an excellent product to learn, especially if you want to cater to both human and pet markets. This technique is popular for capturing handprints, footprints, and paw prints from dogs, cats, rabbits, and even horses.

Though 2D casting may appear simpler than 3D, it requires skill, practice, and attention to detail. Achieving perfect, lasting impressions is key to creating beautiful keepsakes. These personalised pieces become treasured memories for families and pet owners alike, lasting for years to come.

3D FAMILY CASTING TRAINING

The final part of Jennifer’s training focused on creating family castings, an advanced technique popular in the United Kingdom. Family castings capture the hands or feet of multiple family members in unique poses, such as linked hands or even someone holding a cricket ball. These complex designs are highly sought after by clients seeking bespoke family keepsakes.

Mastering these advanced casting skills enables students to offer personalised family keepsakes that reflect the unique bond between family members. As family castings gain popularity in the UK, it will be interesting to see if this trend catches on in Germany, where families may also want to preserve their connections in such a meaningful way.
