3D Pet Paw Casting Training – Create Beautiful Keepsakes
Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award Winner 2024 & 2025 (Top 10% Worldwide) • 5.0 from over 100 reviews • 1:1 and small group pet casting training with real dogs
Pet casting training at Precious Memories is private, hands-on tuition built entirely around real dogs — Pickle my cockapoo plus additional animals I arrange for every session. Students travel from across the UK, Europe and internationally to train here because this level of pet casting training with real animals is extremely rare worldwide. If it existed closer to home, most would not make the journey.
Professional pet casting training UK students book here is built around one principle: you learn by doing, with real dogs, from the very first session. Pickle, my cockapoo, is joined by additional dogs I arrange for you — different breeds, sizes and temperaments — so that by the time you work with a real client’s animal, nothing surprises you.
Training is available 1:1 or for small groups of colleagues and friends training together. Every programme is shaped entirely around your experience, your goals and how far you want to take it.

A pet casting training course built around your goals
There is no fixed package here. Some students arrive with existing casting experience and need one focused day to add pet work to their range. Others start from scratch and want to build a complete professional skillset over two or three days. Whatever your situation, the programme starts from exactly where you are — and I will help you work out which option makes the most sense before you commit to anything.
If you have some prior experience, sending a few photos of your recent work beforehand means your training day starts at the right level. No time is wasted covering ground you already know.
Not sure which option suits you? A quick call or WhatsApp is always the easiest way to work it out. There are no silly questions here — every student, at every level, is guided with the same patience and care. You will never feel judged for not knowing something.
Let’s Work Out the Right Option
Why this pet casting training is different
Real dogs are at the heart of every training day — Pickle plus additional animals I arrange, covering different breeds, sizes and temperaments. Finding this level of hands-on pet casting training with real animals anywhere in the world is genuinely difficult. It is the reason students travel from Norway, Germany, Ireland and beyond specifically for these days. Because you practise on real, moving animals from the start, the confidence you build is genuine. It does not dissolve the moment a client’s nervous lurcher refuses to stay still.
Pet casting also demands a completely different set of materials and techniques to human casting. Memorial pet casting requires a different approach again — specific materials, a different emotional register, and the ability to work calmly and accurately when a grieving owner is present. All of this is taught progressively across the three days.
Everything you earn afterwards is entirely yours. A complete supplier list with exclusive trade discount codes means your business is independent from day one — no ongoing costs, no required purchases, no tie-in to any system.
The three-day pet casting training pathway
Day 1 — Pet Casting Foundations (£650)
Day 1 is the ideal starting point for anyone new to pet casting. Working with Pickle and other dogs I arrange, you will learn safe handling and correct positioning for different breeds, the right materials and mixing ratios for animal skin and fur, and how to create clean, detailed 3D paw casts consistently. Since every dog behaves differently, working with multiple animals on Day 1 means you build adaptability from the very beginning. By the end of the day you will have the foundations to start taking real client bookings.
Day 2 — Advanced Pet Casting, Handclasp & Airbrushing (£650)
Day 2 builds substantially on the foundations. You will work with more challenging animals, learn the handclasp composition — a multi-paw structure requiring a completely different technique to a single cast — and finish with professional airbrushing. Airbrushing is included as part of Day 2 and is what elevates pet castings from good to genuinely premium. It is increasingly what clients expect when they discover your work through social media.
Day 3 — Pet Memorial Specialisation (£750)
Day 3 is specialist training that is genuinely rare anywhere in the UK. The focus is entirely on the skills required for professional memorial pet casting — specific materials, correct technique for fragile or elderly animals, and the emotional awareness and workflow needed to support a grieving family with calm, confident professionalism. All techniques are practised using live animals, so you build real competence before you ever need these skills in a real memorial situation.
If offering compassionate, professional pet memorial services is your goal, this day gives you everything you need. For more detail, see the dedicated Memorial Pet Casting Training page.

Pet casting training reviews from students
“In our first month offering paw castings, we achieved over £6,000 in sales. The training exceeded every expectation and has been a wonderful addition to our business.”
— Jodie, Legacy Pet Cremation Services
“I travelled from Norway to do three days of 3D casting training with Glenda, as well as the 2D raised outprint course. Before booking, I had spoken to a few different trainers, but I did not quite feel confident until I spoke with Glenda. That first conversation reassured me immediately — I knew it was the right place to learn. From the first morning, it was completely hands-on. Working with real models — all arranged by Glenda — made such a difference. Everything was explained in a calm, clear way, and I never felt rushed, even when learning something new. When I returned home, I started building my own studio, Minnestudio, where I now create keepsakes for families and pets. What I learnt during those days is still at the core of my work now. Above all, what I appreciated most was that the focus was on really understanding the process, not just following steps. It meant I could continue confidently on my own afterwards.”
— Ping, Norway (founder of Minnestudio)
“I wasn’t sure where to start my journey adding keepsakes to my business but after a lovely chat with Glenda we worked out a plan. I was a complete beginner but the day was so well set out it never felt rushed. I had two lovely furry helpers supplied by Glenda so it was great to actually practise with real animals. Really looking forward to my next day at Precious Memories.”

Frequently asked questions about pet casting training
Do I need experience to join this pet casting course?
No — Days 1 and 2 are open to complete beginners. Day 3 builds on the foundations from Days 1 and 2 and is not suitable as a standalone starting point. Many students begin with no casting experience at all and leave ready to work with real clients.
Are the dogs provided or do I need to bring my own?
All dogs are arranged by me — Pickle my cockapoo plus additional dogs covering different breeds and temperaments. You bring nothing except yourself. This is one of the things that makes this training genuinely different from anything else available in the UK.
Can I bring a colleague or friend to train at the same time?
Yes — small groups of colleagues or friends training together are welcome. Get in touch to discuss availability and pricing for group bookings.
Is this training suitable for someone who already does human casting?
Absolutely. Pet casting uses different materials and techniques to human casting — it is a genuinely distinct skill set, not simply an extension of what you already know. Many experienced human casters find Day 2 in particular opens up a completely new area of their business.
Can I specialise in memorial pet casting without doing the full three days?
Day 3 is specifically designed for memorial specialisation and can be taken after completing Days 1 and 2. Since memorial work requires confidence with live animals first, Days 1 and 2 are the necessary foundation. Contact me to discuss your specific situation.
Travelling to Dorset for pet casting training
Lytchett Matravers is approximately 15 minutes from Poole and 30 minutes from Bournemouth, with free parking at the studio. Students travel from across the UK and internationally for this training — and it is easy to understand why. Hands-on pet casting training with real animals at this level is rare worldwide. Most students who search for it find that it simply does not exist in their own country.
For students travelling from outside the area, I am happy to provide guidance on local accommodation and travel routes. International payments are accepted via Wise. Training dates are arranged to suit your schedule — just mention your travel plans when you get in touch and I will work around them.
Everything you leave with
Every training day includes all casts created during your session, photos and videos taken throughout, comprehensive notes covering every technique, a verified supplier list with exclusive trade discount codes, a certificate of completion, and lifetime WhatsApp support. Unlike many training providers, I do not disappear when the day ends — I am here whenever you need guidance as you build your business.
