Why this training matters
Memorial lifecasting is unlike any other form of casting. Families often have only one chance to create a lasting keepsake — in a clinical environment, under time pressure, with a grieving family nearby. There is no room for uncertainty, no opportunity to practise, and no margin for error.
Yet many professionals are expected to offer this service with little or no formal training. The result is anxiety, inconsistent results, and missed opportunities to provide families with something genuinely meaningful at the hardest moment of their lives.
This training changes that. You will leave calm, technically confident, and fully prepared for every situation — however complex, however emotionally charged.
Who I have trained
I have worked with professionals from across the healthcare and bereavement sector — each with different settings, different constraints, and different families to serve:
- NHS bereavement teams — including Dorset County Hospital’s Fetal Medicine and Bereavement teams, who needed structured workflows adapted to hospital protocols
- Children’s hospices — including teams from Hospice in the Weald and Birmingham Hospice, working within strict operational rules and charity budgets
- Funeral directors — supporting high-pressure scenarios where families rely on compassionate, confident guidance
- Palliative care teams — learning to work sensitively with fragile skin, limited time, and emotionally distressed families
- International professionals — students have travelled from Norway, Cyprus, India and beyond specifically for this training
Every single training day has been different. That is the point.
What makes this training different
Most casting courses teach a single method for a single situation. Memorial lifecasting does not work that way. The materials, techniques and emotional approach required for an infant in a neonatal unit are completely different to those needed for an adult in a hospice, or a family arrangement in a funeral home.
I teach you to adapt — to the environment, to the subject, to the family, and to the constraints of your specific setting. Whether that means working within a charity budget, navigating hospital infection control protocols, or simply finding the right words when a family is in pieces — this training prepares you for all of it.
I also ask students to send photos of their recent work and tell me about their setting before we meet. That means Day 1 is already tailored to you before you walk through the door — no time wasted on things you already know, and every minute focused on exactly what you need.
A recent example
A Children’s Therapeutic Practitioner from Birmingham Hospice came to me having already been casting for some time. She had specific challenges she needed to work through and a clear sense of what her families needed. Rather than starting from scratch, the entire day was built around refining her existing technique, correcting specific issues she had identified, and adapting her workflow to her hospice setting. She left with a refined, confident approach tailored entirely to the families she serves.
This is how I work with every professional who comes with existing experience. There is no one-size-fits-all approach here.
What students say
“Glenda was absolutely amazing. She was kind and patient but led by what would work best for our setting — a children’s hospice — allowing us to do memorial casts the way we knew would work best for our families. We came away feeling much more confident and quite emotional that we were able to create such beautiful pieces for families going through such a difficult time.”
— Chloe K, Children’s Hospice (2-day training, February 2026)
“We had been making mistakes and overspending on suppliers before training. Over two days, Glenda adapted every part of the course to our hospice environment, helping us follow strict rules and work within our budget. We now feel confident, supported, and capable of producing professional, meaningful memorial casts for families.”
— Hayley & Laura, Hospice in the Weald (November 2025)
“In one day, Glenda guided us through the essentials and adapted the training to our hospital workflow and budget constraints. We left feeling confident and fully equipped to create sensitive, lasting keepsakes.”
— Team Specialists, Dorset NHS Forget-Me-Not Bereavement Team (November 2025)
“Glenda delivered professional and practical lifecasting training. Her approach was calm, organised, and tailored to the sensitive nature of our work. We left confident to offer this service professionally.”
— Sophie, Funeral Director
“Travelling from Norway was completely worth it. I now have the skills and confidence to create sensitive, professional memorial castings.”
— Ping, Norway
The options — built around your situation
There is no standard package here. Every training programme is designed around your experience, your environment, and the level of support you need. Most professionals choose either 1 or 2 days depending on their existing experience and what they need to achieve.
1-day intensive — from £750
The most popular option for professionals who already have some casting experience and need focused, tailored guidance. Ideal for those integrating lifecasting into an existing care role or refining techniques they have already developed. I ask for photos and background information beforehand so the day is tailored before you arrive — no time wasted on things you already know.
2-day training — £1,500
For professionals coming with little or no casting experience, or those who want to develop both technical foundations and the emotional and practical skills required for working confidently in sensitive environments. Two days allows time to work through real scenarios, troubleshoot specific challenges, and build genuine confidence through supervised practice.
Charity and hospice rates are available — please mention your setting when you enquire and I will outline the options available to you.
