Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award Winner 2024 & 2025 (Top 10% Worldwide) • 5.0 from over 100 reviews • 1:1 training with real babies and families — never dolls

Students travel from across the UK and internationally to train here 1:1

This is the UK’s leading private baby casting training course. Students travel from Norway, India, Tanzania, Germany, Ireland, Cyprus, and Los Angeles to train here, as this level of baby casting training with real models is not available in most countries.

Every session is private and fully personalised, held in my Dorset studio, with real babies and families arranged for your training. There are no dolls and no group sessions. You arrive, you learn, you cast.

How this hand casting course UK works

Deciding to invest in training — particularly when you are building something around family life and a budget — is not a decision taken lightly. So here is an honest picture of what each option gives you, and I will let you decide what is right for your situation.

Some students do one day, take their notes and videos home, and build their business from there — and they do brilliantly. Most do two days and leave feeling genuinely ready to work with real clients. Others do all three and want the complete picture from the start. All of those are valid choices and I will support you fully whatever you decide.

Not sure which option suits you? Just give me a call or drop me a WhatsApp — I am always happy to have a quick chat and help you work out what makes sense for your goals and budget.

Not sure? Let’s talk through your options

What sets this baby casting training apart

Some UK training providers use dolls or plastic hands. Every studenthere works with real babies from the very first session — arranged by me, at no extra cost to you.

I also teach you to work with different materials for different situations — because a newborn requires a completely different approach to an older baby, and getting that right is what separates a confident professional from someone who struggles the moment real life does not match practice.  Adaptability is at the heart of everything taught here.

When your training ends, I do not disappear. Every course includes lifetime WhatsApp support, free of charge, for as long as you need it. Whether a question comes up a week or two years later, I am here.

Choose your baby casting training option

One day — £650

Day 1 gives you the foundations of baby hand casting and baby casting technique. Working with a newborn — still, delicate, and the perfect model for learning precision and the correct materials for delicate skin — you will learn safe mould-making, demoulding and basic finishing. You leave with your cast, comprehensive notes, photos and videos, a trusted supplier list with trade discount codes, and lifetime WhatsApp support. Since most students practise at home between sessions, one day is a perfectly solid starting point.

Two days — £1,300

Day 2 is where confidence really takes hold. Working with a baby of around 6 months — wriggly, unpredictable, and requiring a completely different technique and set of materials to Day 1 — you build the ability to handle the unexpected. The handclasp composition and professional airbrushing are also covered as part of this day. By the end, most students feel genuinely ready to work with real clients.

Three days — £1,950 (saving £100)

Day 3 covers advanced family compositions, complex multi-step castings, premium finishing and the higher-level techniques that open up more ambitious, higher-value commissions. It can be done consecutively with Days 1 and 2, or at a later date when you feel ready. Book all three upfront and save £100, paid in two comfortable instalments.

Training dates are flexible, so feel free to get in touch if you had some in mind.

Interested in specialising in memorial casting? There is a dedicated Memorial Lifecasting Training course for that.

Who you become after this training

By the end of your training, you will be able to work confidently with real clients, create premium castings that people genuinely treasure, and begin earning immediately. Many students take their first booking within days of returning home.

Whether you are starting a business from scratch, adding a new income stream to an existing creative practice, or bringing a specialist skill to a professional setting — this training gives you the technical foundation, the business knowledge, and the ongoing support to make it work.  Every course includes lifetime WhatsApp guidance, you are never alone once you leave the studio.

  • Work safely and confidently with newborns, older babies and families
  • Handle real-life situations — movement, timing and material choices under pressure
  • Create premium handclasp and family compositions as higher-value commissions
  • Charge professionally from day one — supplier list and trade discounts included
  • Build a flexible business around your life, with support behind you at every step

What students say about this course

“Glenda is simply amazing. I am struggling to put into words just how knowledgeable she is and how fantastic she is as a mentor. No question is silly — she will answer and demonstrate to explain things thoroughly. She understands different learning types and makes sure you fully understand things before moving on. I learnt so much over my two days with her, new skills that have elevated our business by providing such treasured keepsakes to families. I know I can rely on her honest feedback and can message her whenever I have any queries. I loved being taught by her and I hope to visit again to learn other new skills. I have attached some of the work I completed in the 5 months since being trained by Glenda. I cannot thank you enough.”

— Jodie, Legacy Pet Cremations

“I had a brand new baby for Day 1 and a sitter for Day 2 — we practised the handclasp and Glenda gave me all the tricks. One-to-one, not a group. If you are looking for a trainer who gives her all and teaches you everything, Glenda is your girl.”

— Ada, Scottish Highlands (newborn photographer)

“Although I travelled from India, it was 100% worth it. The personalised teaching, hands-on experience and supportive environment are second to none. It is a truly complete lifecasting course.”

— Student, India

“Well-structured, hands-on and inspiring — even complex techniques felt achievable. What truly sets Glenda apart is the incredible post-training support long after the course ends. I left feeling confident, supported and excited.”

— Aislinn, Ireland

“The 1:1 experience with real wriggling babies and Pickle — which Glenda organises — was invaluable. I came away with a new skillset and real confidence in my ability.”

— Julie, Scotland

Ready to go further?

Many students return for the Advanced hand casting and lifecasting masterclass once they have built their confidence — covering complex multi-hand compositions, memorial techniques and advanced airbrushing at the highest level. Send a few photos of your recent work beforehand and I will tailor the day entirely to where you are and where you want to go.

Travelling from outside the UK

Many students travel specifically for this training — and Dorset is one of the most beautiful parts of England to visit. Since the studio is approximately 90 minutes from London by train, and well connected to several regional airports, most international students find the journey straightforward. Several combine their training with a few days exploring the Dorset coast.

For every student travelling from outside the UK, I provide personal guidance on local accommodation, transport options and travel routes. International payments are accepted via Wise. Training dates are arranged around your travel schedule — just let me know when you are available and I will find dates that work.

Students have trained here from Scotland, Wales, Ireland, Norway, Latvia, Germany, Holland, Spain, Cyprus, India, Tanzania and Los Angeles. If you are considering travelling for this training, please get in touch — I am always happy to answer questions and help you plan your trip.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need experience to join this hand casting course?

No — complete beginners are very welcome. Many students start with no casting experience at all and leave ready to work with real clients.

Are real babies provided for the training?

Yes. Every course day includes real babies and families arranged by me at no extra cost. Nothing for you to organise.

Where does the course take place?

All training takes place in my private studio in Lytchett Matravers, Dorset — approximately 15 minutes from Poole and 30 minutes from Bournemouth, with free parking.

Can I start a business after completing this course?

Yes — many students launch their own casting businesses within weeks of training. Jodie from Legacy Pet Cremations made over £6,000 in her first month. Lifetime WhatsApp support means you always have guidance as you grow.

Is this course suitable for international students?

Absolutely. Students travel from across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas to train here — because this level of 1:1 hand casting training with real models is simply not available in most countries. Accommodation guidance, flexible scheduling and international payment via Wise are all available. Just get in touch and I will help you plan your trip.

What is the difference between Day 1 and Day 2?

Day 1 focuses on newborn casting — specific materials, techniques and handling for delicate skin. Working with a baby of around 6 months on Day 2 requires entirely different materials and a different approach. Both are real babies arranged by me. Together they give you a complete, professional skill set.
