Learn Professional Belly Bump Casting in One Day, With Two Real Models
£550 · One day · Private 1:1 · Two real pregnant models · Lifetime support
Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award 2024 & 2025 · 5.0 from 125+ reviews
This belly bump casting course is one day of hands-on, private training in Dorset. Two real pregnant models are arranged for you at no extra cost, so there is nothing to organise. You take home one of each cast you make: a belly bump bowl and a belly and boob cast. The models keep the other of each. You also take notes, photos and videos from the day.
There are no mannequins and no practising on yourself. UK and international students are welcome.
Your Belly Bump Training Day
- Meet your first model. You create a belly bump bowl, learning technique, positioning and support.
- Work with your second model. You cast the belly and boobs, and sometimes the arms too, a different composition that needs a different approach.
- Learn reinforcing and finishing. I explain how to reinforce and finish your casts as we go.
- Cover the client side. We go through setting up for a client session, presentation and pricing.
- Leave with your own work. You take home your casts, notes, photos and videos, and a supplier list.
Why I Teach Modroc for Belly Bump Casting
Modroc is the technique taught on this course. It makes strong, durable casts that hold their shape and finish well. That matters for a piece your client will display and keep for years.
A photographer recently contacted me after using one of my client’s belly bump bowls for a newborn shoot. They called specifically to say how strong and sturdy it was compared with others they had worked with before. That is the standard I teach every student to reach.
Modroc has other advantages too:
- A gentle, comfortable experience for expectant mothers
- Versatility, from bowls to wall art and display pieces
- A price more families can afford, where alginate prices many clients out
Finished pieces range from £100 to £200, depending on how much finishing work goes into them.

What You Take Home
You take home one of each cast you make: a belly bump bowl and a belly and boob cast. Each model keeps the other. Your pieces will still be drying when you leave, but I teach the full process, so you’ll know exactly how to finish them at home. Both make strong examples to show potential clients.
You also take home comprehensive notes, photos and short videos from the day, a supplier list and your certificate. Lifetime WhatsApp support is included, so whenever questions come up once you start practising, I’m always here.
Who This Belly Bump Casting Course Is For
Belly bump casting is a natural addition to businesses that already work with expectant parents and new families.
- Doulas and birth workers: offer a keepsake alongside the support you already give.
- Pregnancy massage and holistic practitioners: add a keepsake to your pregnancy care.
- Antenatal teachers and baby businesses: give families a keepsake from the weeks before their baby arrives.
- Maternity and newborn photographers: cast a client’s bump during pregnancy, then use her own bowl for the newborn session.
- Other family and keepsake services: add belly casting to what you already create.
- Anyone wanting a new skill: learn the craft properly, then decide where to take it.
Students often combine this course with the Hand Casting Course UK or Raised Hand & Foot Tile Training. That way, they can offer a complete maternity and newborn keepsake service.

The studio is in Lytchett Matravers, Dorset, about 15 minutes from Poole and 30 minutes from Bournemouth. Free parking is right outside. It is a calm, private space designed entirely for this kind of work.
Both pregnant models are arranged by me, so you just need to turn up. Everything else is provided on the day, including all materials. A 50% deposit secures your place, with the balance due the week before.
Quite a few belly bump students travel to me. In that case, I am happy to help with local accommodation recommendations, and international payments can be made via Wise. Just mention this when you enquire.
