Advanced 3D Lifecasting Training UK
Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Award Winner 2025 & 2026 (Top 10% Worldwide) • 5.0 from over 100 reviews • Private 1:1 advanced lifecasting masterclass in Dorset
Students travel from across the UK, Europe and internationally for this advanced lifecasting training — because instruction at this level, tailored entirely to your current work, is extremely rare worldwide. If it existed closer to home, most would not make the journey.
This advanced lifecasting training UK course is a single private day built entirely around your current skill level and where you want to go next. Before your session, I ask you to send a few photos of your recent work. That way, from the moment you arrive, every technique covered is one that will genuinely move your practice forward — nothing wasted on ground you already know.
Available as a private 1:1 session or for small groups — such as colleagues who work together or friends building complementary businesses. All initial conversations are informal and without obligation.

Does this sound familiar?
You already cast and have the basics. But something is not quite right — perhaps your multi-hand structures are not as stable as you would like, your finishes look flat compared to what you see other casters producing online, or you are using the same materials for every casting and getting inconsistent results.
Perhaps you have looked at multi-day programmes costing thousands of pounds and thought: I do not need to go back to basics. I just need one focused day with someone who genuinely knows their craft at the highest level.
Many students who come for this masterclass have felt stuck for a while — frustrated that their work is not reaching the level they know it should, unsure exactly what is holding them back, and not quite sure who to ask. That is completely normal. Advanced technique is not something that is easy to self-diagnose, and the kind of honest, experienced guidance that actually fixes it is genuinely hard to find.
That is exactly what this masterclass is.
This is not a generic course day. Every part of your training is shaped around your current work, your specific weaknesses, and the level you want to reach next.
What this advanced lifecasting masterclass covers
Because every student arrives at a different level with different goals, I shape the content entirely around what you need. Depending on what your work requires, the day may cover any combination of the following:
- Advanced family compositions and multi-hand structures
- Linked hands and two-step castings
- Improving detail, clarity and definition in your existing work
- Strengthening and stabilising complex pieces
- Working with different materials adapted correctly to each casting requirement
- Multi-step casts requiring precise workflow and timing
- Premium finishing at portfolio or commission level
- Workflow and pricing for high-value commissions
- Memorial casting techniques for those wanting to offer this service
Interested in specialising fully in memorial casting? There is a dedicated Memorial Lifecasting Training course for that.
The Airbrush Masterclass — a separate half day
Professional airbrushing is what separates good casts from genuinely premium ones — and rather than bolting it onto this day, I teach it as its own dedicated half-day course. If you want to develop your finishing techniques alongside your advanced casting skills, booking the Airbrush Masterclass as a separate half day works well — either before or after your Advanced Masterclass, on the same or a different date.
- Advanced Lifecasting Masterclass — £750 — full day, 9:30am to 3:30pm
- Airbrush Masterclass — £350 — separate half day, booked independently
Who this advanced training is for
This masterclass suits experienced casters who are ready to take their work further. Before booking, you should already be comfortable with basic mould-taking, mixing and pouring plaster correctly, demoulding safely without losing detail, and creating clean, recognisable casts from real models.
It is also well suited to professionals expanding into more complex or higher-value work — keepsake studio owners, pet cremation providers, funeral directors and memorial specialists wanting to add advanced techniques to their existing services.
If you have trained with me before, this covers the same content as Day 3 of my 3D Casting pathway. Not quite at advanced level yet? Starting with Days 1 and 2 first gives you the foundations to make this day genuinely transformative.
Common mistakes this masterclass will fix
If any of these sound familiar, this day will address them directly:
- Using the same alginate for every casting — leads to tearing, distortion and loss of detail
- Weak or unstable multi-hand structures — a structural technique issue that is completely fixable
- Losing detail during finishing — over-sanding, incorrect plaster mix, or rushing the final stages
- Incorrect timings and workflow — advanced castings need precise, well-rehearsed working times
- Overworking or underworking the mould — causes air pockets, surface damage and distortion
- Using outdated or unsuitable materials — limits both the detail and structural strength achievable
- Undercharging for multi-hand or memorial pieces — pricing advanced work correctly matters
- Relying on hand-painting for finishes — premium work requires professional airbrushing technique
Who you become after this advanced casting day
By the end of your masterclass, you will feel confident taking on complex, higher-value commissions that previously felt out of reach. The techniques, the material knowledge and the precise workflow will be yours — and with lifetime support behind you, the progress does not stop when the day ends. Many students leave and immediately raise their rates, take on commissions they had previously declined, or finally launch the advanced or memorial service they had been putting off.
Advanced lifecasting training UK reviews
“Back in November, Glenda delivered an exceptional 3-day lifecasting training course. She is knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely generous with her expertise. The course was well-structured, hands-on and inspiring — even complex techniques felt achievable. What truly sets Glenda apart is the incredible post-training support. She continues to offer guidance, encouragement and answers long after the course ends. I left feeling confident, supported and excited to put everything into practice. Highly recommended for anyone serious about learning lifecasting.”
— Aislinn, Addlestone
“Before booking, I had spoken to a few different trainers, but I did not quite feel confident until I spoke with Glenda. That first conversation reassured me immediately — I knew it was the right place to learn. From the first morning, everything was hands-on and clearly explained, and I never felt rushed, even when working through more complex techniques. What stood out most was the focus on really understanding the process, rather than just following steps. Since returning home, I have built my own studio, Minnestudio, and what I learnt during those days is still at the core of my work now.”
— Ping, Norway (founder of Minnestudio)
Frequently asked questions about the advanced masterclass
How experienced do I need to be before booking?
You should already be casting comfortably — comfortable with alginate, plaster, demoulding and working with real models. This is not a beginner course. If you are unsure whether your level is right, send me a few photos of your recent work and I will give you an honest answer.
Do I need to send photos before I book?
Yes — this is how the day gets shaped around you rather than being a generic masterclass. Seeing your recent work tells me exactly where to start, what to focus on, and how to use the day most effectively. It is a five-minute step that makes the entire day more valuable.
Is this the same as Day 3 of the 3D Casting pathway?
Yes — the content is the same. If you have already completed Days 1 and 2 with me and want to continue, this is Day 3. If you are coming from outside and already have solid casting experience, this standalone masterclass gives you the same advanced content in a single private day.
What training styles are available?
This masterclass is available as a private 1:1 session or for small groups — for example, two colleagues who work together, or friends who run complementary businesses and want to train on the same day. Group sessions are priced per person. Get in touch to discuss which format works best for your situation.
Can I book the Airbrush Masterclass alongside this course?
The Airbrush Masterclass is always booked as a separate half day — it is not added on to this course. Most students book them on different dates so each session gets full focus. If you want to develop both your advanced casting and your finishing techniques, get in touch and I will help you plan the best sequence for your goals.
Travelling to Dorset for this training
Many students travel specifically for this advanced lifecasting training — from London, Ireland, Scotland, Norway and internationally — because one genuinely tailored day at this level is rare worldwide. The studio is in Lytchett Matravers, Dorset, approximately 15 minutes from Poole and 30 minutes from Bournemouth, with free parking. For students travelling from further afield, I am happy to help with accommodation suggestions and travel guidance. International payments are accepted via Wise.
