Why businesses across the UK and overseas are adding 2D keepsakes to the services they already offer
Why More Businesses Are Choosing Raised Outprint Tiles
Family businesses are changing.
Family businesses are adapting to changing childcare patterns, changing customer habits and rising costs. Many are looking for ways to offer existing clients something extra, while creating an additional income stream.
Raised outprint tiles, also known as 2D impression training or 2D raised baby hand and footprint keepsakes, are becoming increasingly popular because of this. They fit naturally alongside businesses already working with babies, children and families. They capture tiny hands, feet or paws in beautiful raised detail, giving families a keepsake they’ll treasure for years.
For some students, it’s the perfect addition to an established business. For others, it’s the first step towards building an entirely new keepsake business. No previous artistic experience is needed. Most students start as complete beginners.
From London to Norway — Real Students, Real Businesses
Tamara runs a newborn photography studio in London and wanted to offer her families something more than photos.
She looked at online courses first, but chose to come to my private Dorset studio instead. A video can show you a technique, but it can’t tell you exactly how much pressure to use on a real, living baby, or correct you on the spot if something’s not quite right.
“Unlike many companies that only allow students to practise on dolls, I had the invaluable opportunity to work with a real baby. This made all the difference. I left feeling inspired, confident and eager to continue developing my skills.”
Tamara isn’t alone. Some students already run newborn photography studios. Others teach baby classes, work in early years, or simply want to build a keepsake business from scratch.
Ping came from Norway to train with me, and now runs her own successful keepsake business. We’re still in touch. One thing she often says is:
“I still WhatsApp Glenda whenever I’m in doubt. She’s always there.”
For me, that’s what good training should be. It isn’t just about one day in the studio, it’s about giving people the confidence to keep growing long after.
More Than Learning a Technique
Over the past 22 years I’ve trained students from across the UK, Norway, Tanzania, India, Germany, Cyprus, Jersey and beyond. Many of them now run successful keepsake businesses of their own.
Raised outprint tiles suit a wide range of businesses, including newborn photographers, baby and toddler businesses, baby massage and baby yoga practitioners, early years professionals, family photographers, and creative businesses looking to expand their services.
During your private, one-to-one training, you’ll work with real babies, not dolls. You’ll learn exactly how much pressure to apply, how to achieve consistent results, and how to finish each piece professionally.
I share everything I’ve learnt about materials, suppliers, pricing, presentation, and working confidently with families. My aim isn’t simply to teach you a technique. It’s to help you build a service you’ll be proud to offer.
Could Raised Outprint Tiles Be Right for You?
Whether you’re expanding an existing business or starting something completely new, I’ll help you decide which training is the best place to begin.
Students travel to Dorset from across the UK and around the world for practical, hands-on training. They come for real models, and for ongoing support that continues long after the course has finished.
There’s no pressure, just an honest conversation about your goals and whether this is the right path for you.
